My process is shaped around each student’s ambitions and the family’s wider educational priorities. Some families work with me over several years, enabling me to guide a student’s intellectual development and admissions strategy from an early stage; others seek focused counsel at a decisive moment. For students and families managing demanding schedules, international school calendars, tutors, travel, and competing academic priorities, the admissions process can quickly become fragmented. Dubhrosa Consulting provides a single, discreet advisory structure through which everyone can remain fully informed every step of the way without ever losing sight of the larger strategy.

Ongoing Advisory Sessions

Multi-Year Mentorship

This is the most comprehensive form of engagement: a long-term advisory relationship designed to help students identify exactly what they want to do with their lives before developing projects and exploring opportunities that will allow them to pursue their passions to the fullest extent.

Typically Over two to three years, I work directly with students to help them shape their academic direction, strengthen their overall profiles, and gain the experiences that will eventually shape a distinctive application narrative. This work is highly personalized, focusing on the distinct character of each student: what they read, what they care about, what they are capable of or inclined towards building or writing, and the best way for them to learn how to express their ideas with maturity and conviction.

For parents and students alike, this provides a clear strategic framework around an otherwise uncertain process. I help manage the application timeline, identify worthwhile academic and extracurricular opportunities, monitor their progress, and ensure that each student’s development remains purposeful and impactful rather than reactive and disordered.

Targeted Consultations

For families and students who don’t need a multi-year partnership but want experienced advice regarding a specific challenge: an Oxbridge interview, US/UK school selection, creative portfolio development, or personal-statement coaching for a handful of graduate-school applications. Conversations are scheduled directly, and our work together will continue for as long as you deem necessary.

Every consultation produces something concrete: a revised draft, a shortlist, a decision framework, a plan for the weeks ahead. You will leave each session withe me knowing exactly what to do next.

A Workspace Built Around You

I work with families through a private client workspace accessible to students and parents alike: a single organized home where you can access meeting reports, stay on top of action items and deadlines, and track progress as we develop the candidate’s narrative. Nothing gets lost in forgotten email threads — you will always know where you stand, what’s been accomplished, and what’s next.

Typically services include (but are not limited to):

  • Extracurricular Development
  • Personal Statement & Supplemental Essay Coaching
  • Interview Preparation
  • Creative Portfolio Development
  • Graduate Admissions Consulting (e.g. MA, MBA, JD)

Specific terms (duration, fees) will be discussed during our initial conversation.

I’ve spent the last twelve years working in elite admissions consulting. I’ve mentored students from every continent, working directly with families and as a senior figure in the leading firms in the field. I launched Dubhrosa Consulting so that I could do the work I find most meaningful and which achieves the best outcomes for students: long-form mentorship of ambitious young people across several years to accomplish whatever they’ve set their sights on.

What I believe about the admissions process, after over a decade in this field, is fairly simple. The students who succeed at the top end of the global system are not the ones who worked the hardest to optimize their applications. They are the ones who built genuine intellectual range, discovered a real sense of purpose, and engaged in meaningful projects related to that purpose – while developing strong opinions about the things they cared about and learning to defend those opinions competently in conversation with adults.

My central focus is ensuring the students I work with start on a trajectory towards working on the problems they’re genuinely passionate about. I’ve found this is the most effective way to succeed in the admissions process – and the most reliable way to make sure they end up doing something they love with their lives.

I take on a small number of families each year, and I do all the work myself.

If any of this sounds like the kind of practice your family is looking for, I’d be glad to talk.
