Discover. Build. Resonate.

Colm Dubhrosa
As the child of two teachers, I developed a love for all things education at an early age. Since graduating from Harvard (Class of 2013), I’ve devoted over twelve years to helping young people discover what they genuinely care about and build exceptional profiles – placing students at every Ivy League school, Stanford, MIT, Oxbridge, NUS, and many more elite universities in the process.
I work both independently and as a senior consultant with some of the world’s largest consulting firms. That dual vantage point has enabled me to oversee a wide variety of cases across every continent, sharpening my sense of what actually goes into designing differentiated, successful applications. With Dubhrosa Consulting, I work in a more direct manner with a small number of families each year, and I handle everything myself: every conversation, every draft, every decision. I will be here to guide you through every step of this process personally.
A Story Only You Can Tell

Philosophy
Most admissions advice is reverse-engineered from a checklist: a boring school club, mandated charity work, a meaningless research paper, and a fabricated “passion project.” The result? Colleges are inundated with a collection of almost identical, entirely forgettable applications.
I work the other way around – starting with what matters to the student, what the student reads, and what they would build or write or make if no one were grading them. This is the foundation I use to shape the application narratives I design: activities that are student-led, innovative, and distinct; essays filled with powerful, personal anecdotes and insights.
This kind of bespoke, founder-led guidance takes time. This is why I primarily work with students over years, not months, and only with families who are willing to commit to such an intensive process.
Students I’ve mentored have gained admission to the following universities:
Process
Our work with each student begins with a deliberate, selective onboarding process designed to ensure alignment and maximize the likelihood of success.

The First Conversation
Every engagement starts with a call with me directly to determine whether we are a good fit for each other. We’ll talk about your child: what they’re studying, what they’re drawn to, where they want to be (and where you hope they’ll be) in five years. I only take on students with whom I’m confident I can accomplish purposeful, impactful goals.
Mapping the Strategy
After we agree to work together, we begin with an initial strategy session. At this point, I want to spend more time getting to know the student in depth: their academic history, their current extracurricular activities, what excites them, the ideas they enjoy reading about and discussing. I’m interested in what genuinely piques their curiosity. Gradually, we agree on an ambitious trajectory for the years ahead and a plan for making real, incremental progress towards accomplishing their goals.

Doing the Work
Most students work with me over two to three years. Between sessions, parents and students have access to a private student portal where they can read meeting reports, track ongoing projects, stay on top of deadlines, and see how the student’s progressing overall. You will also receive a report after every meeting outlining what was discussed and the next steps your child will need to take.

Dinesh

A multi-talented student under pressure to drop one of his two intellectual passions. Here’s how pursuing both earned him admission to a top-5 UK program.
Joyce

Although top of her class with near-flawless grades, Joyce had barely any extracurricular work to show for it. Here’s exactly how we changed that.
Pim

A young wellness expert with genuine expertise lacking confidence and communication skills. Here’s how we worked together to build both convincingly.
“Your guidance was far more than ‘college counseling’. You were a steady compass, pointing me back to my own potential whenever the process felt overwhelming. Because of your patience and belief, I rediscovered confidence I didn’t know I had and learned to shape the strongest version of myself.”
